I Just Love Living in Kentucky!

I don’t care what people say or the statistics show. Yes, I realize unemployment is high, we may not rank the highest on the education stats, and maybe we have some of the highest rates of depression in all of the 50 states (personally, I think they tested depression after severe snow and ice of the winter or during the spring storms of devastating consequences).

Normally, I am not a back roads kind of girl. But, as I was driving home from an auction in Garrard County yesterday, I had time to enjoy the scenic countryside. Time to make a mental list of a few of the things I love and appreciate about living in southeastern Kentucky, the bluegrass land of four seasons.

History around every corner – Daniel Boone, Abe Lincoln, and so Many Moore
Coolest State Parks and Natural Wonders (like the Moonbow)
Country Fairs and City Festivals
Large Country Homes with Balconies and Wrap Around Porches
Gently Sloping Green Fields of Pasture filled with Cows and Horses
Crops and Crops of Corn and Tobacco
Steep Mountain Vistas
Flags upon Flags Displayed Down the City Streets
Stately Oaks, Beautiful Gardens, Wildflowers Everywhere
Horses, Horses Everywhere
Good Shopping and Big Cities Close to the Country
Friendly Faces and Southern Hospitality

I am so blessed and thankful to live in this little piece of God’s Country!
